Oh, Charmander
Cross stitch/embroidery has to be the most economical craft I have ever gotten into. The salesperson at Michael’s showed me the embroidery section one day, and my brain exploded with “oh my gosh the thread is only THIRTY CENTS?!” After coming from knitting, where a nice skein of yarn hovers at around $30-40, this was finally the opportunity where I could buy as many shiny colours as I wanted.
I’m a huge fan of diving in, so instead of doing a sampler as my first cross stitch project, I found this pattern that someone had created based on this amazing tattoo. I used DMC colours 3021, 720 and 743, and framed him in a silver frame from the dollar store.

One Plain Old Hat
I finally found a way to honour a super soft skein of Misti Alpaca Chunky that I received almost a year ago in a Secret Santa swap. The best part? I finally have both a pattern on Ravelry and a hat I can make consistently in under three hours!
Who said work appropriate was not fun?
Today is a day for crafting.
I received my gorgeous package of Lizzie House and Cotton + Steel fabrics for my various dresses!
